Job Description

This position will manage a team of analysts and is primarily responsible for analyzing and reporting on the financial results of the energy management activities for a portfolio of power plants and power contracts.

You will work on projects where analysis of situations and/or data requires review of relevant market factors and may require the exercise of judgment within defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate action. You will be the primary point of contact for all customers and will be responsible for ensuring that their contractual needs are met.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure financial and operational compliance with Power Purchase Agreements and RTO/ISO obligations.
  • Support new projects as the commercial advisor for operational and PPA management.
  • Support new business opportunities and Power Purchase Agreement contract administration.
  • Lead a team for monthly portfolio reporting including RECs, power, and market exposure.
  • Acts as the technical advisor to the group overseeing market settlements and revenue recognition of PPA portfolio and may become actively involved in projects to meet schedules and resolve problems.
  • Interact with supervisors and functional peer groups involving matters between functional areas, customers, and the company.
  • Provide guidance to subordinates and establish procedures that affect your immediate organization within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Identify continuous improvement solutions, also committing Digital Hub for innovative IT solutions, managing related implementation projects.
  • Manage monthly and annual plant financial performance reporting
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external counterpart
  • Provide support for projects, market compliance, regulatory filings,
  • Stay current on national and local market drivers for Energy and Renewable Energy Credits
  • Provide reports and create presentations providing project and financial updates as needed
  • Develop and administer employee schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities
  • Expected to follow standard business practices and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solution
  • Manages the activities for the entire portfolio of projects with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing
  • Collaborate with various groups across the company to solve ad hoc problems

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a group
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Demonstrates creativity, and independent thought when solving problems
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external groups
  • Prior experience in developing junior team members through mentoring, training and leading by example preferred.
  • Will require full knowledge of functional responsibilities of all groups/individuals within the organization
  • Up to 20% domestic travel may be required
