Job Description

This position is responsible for the execution of mechanical maintenance and repairs, as well as Capex work throughout assigned region. This work will include both internal and external resources under the supervision of the Site Manager.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Support the plants in working safely and within all local, state federal and company guidelines
  • Assist in troubleshooting and evaluation of Mechanical equipment for assigned region
  • Perform onsite work for all Routine and Reoccurring Maintenance including the identification of malfunctions of all hydroelectric plant operational equipment, such as plant auxiliaries, generators, transformers and turbines
  • Work by SAP PM Maintenance Plans for all planned maintenance activities including planned and unplanned
  • Provide support for operations as required by Site Manager and the Control and Monitoring Room, including but not limited to the Monitoring of hydroelectric power plant equipment operation and performance, Start, Adjust, and Stop generating units, operating valves, gates, or auxiliary equipment
  • Utilize digital systems in the; receipt of assigned work plans whether SAP Work Orders or GPWAY for routine inspections, documentation of inspection results and recording of time worked and the allocation of this to the proper Work Order

OTHER DUTIES

  • Maintain logs, reports, work requests, and other records of work performed in hydroelectric plants
  • Inspect water-powered electric generators and auxiliary equipment in hydroelectric plants to verify proper operation and to determine maintenance or repair needs 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Knowledge in Mechanical theory and troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge of mechanical testing and measuring equipment, such as gauges, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and civil drawings, for the use of troubleshooting and equipment isolation on low distribution and control voltage systems
  • Ability to work as part of a team and involve others in decisions when appropriate
  • Ability to take initiative in problem solving.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 0-5 year’s relevant experience
  • Power plant operations experience is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Electrical and Instrumentation preferred
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions using the appropriate PPE
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft office suite
  • Ability to utilize mobile application on phones and tablets in the field for documentation of work
  • Must be able to travel as needed up to 90% throughout portfolio
