Job Description

This position will work on the development strategy to grow the company’s footprint in the Western USA, across renewable technologies; will identify opportunities on the basis of co-development relationships with project developers, as well as individual projects under development or in operation. Will work jointly with other disciplines to conduct due diligence on, as well as to manage the development of projects. Will coordinate an interdisciplinary team involved in all stages of project development, from conception through handover to Engineering and Construction (E&C), and continued support through COD. The position is also responsible for supervising and mentoring Business Development Managers /Associates.


• Coordinate several functional areas internal and external to EGPNA to support a project’s development including regulatory consultation, permitting, basic legal review, basic engineering review, and financial model assumptions. Monitor the progress of projects via periodic meetings to assess the development and construction of projects, as well as budget execution. 30%

• Provide leadership, direction and management during project due diligence by ensuring that critical documents and information are provided; and analyzed by in-house experts or consultants; provide analytical and modeling support for financial and technical assessments of projects. 15%

• Identify and constitute new development partnerships in wind and solar 15%

• Obtain internal approvals to allow projects to progress, including processing PRs/POs/SES documents, initiating WBS documentation, preparing project for Investment Committee approval, and Handover to E&C. 10%

• Develop strategic plan and budget for area in conjunction with Sr. Management and monitor the progress of strategic initiatives. Communicate on a regular basis in meetings or with presentations, and provide supervision of project expenses. 10%

• Support the E&C team during the construction process. 5%

• Support AFC and legal in various financial transactions with third parties (tax equity, construction financing, etc.) to ensure transaction terms are as favorable to EGPNA as possible; assist with the negotiations of commercial agreements. 5%

• Communicate with third party developers, financial advisors, utilities, and other parties to exchange market intelligence, as a means to receive information or create new project opportunities. 5%

• Mentor and provide professional development directly (financial modeling, discussions on specific topics, etc.) or indirectly (supervision of and follow up on work performed), for the professional advancement of direct reports. 5%



• Accomplished leadership abilities to motivate, lead, manage, coordinate and direct staff.
• Knowledge of and experience with project certification, inspection and consultancy services in renewable energy sector
• International business experience
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and cooperate effectively with multidisciplinary and multinational teams
• Practiced organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize and implement a range of business development programs
• Able to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in languages other than English (preferably Italian or Spanish)


• Master’s Degree or educational background as an Engineer
• At least 7-10 years’ experience with a strong financial background (valuation, transactional experience, tax and incentives) and in market development, utility sales and marketing
• Technical knowledge (familiarity with renewable technologies, power markets, legislation)
• Superior verbal and written skills
• Regular driver’s license required
• 30% domestic travel with limited international travel required.
